7 steps to true beauty.

It can be very easy to look cool or pretty, just pick out an outfit you look smoken hot in and ‘Wa-lla’ you can walk out that door with far more confidence then in your PJ’s.

But what about looking beautiful? Wow beautiful, there is a big word every girl wishes to hear and every guy knows how to use it.

Beauty from the Google dictionary says: ‘The quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind.’

And for beautiful it says: ‘Having Beauty: Having qualities that give great pleasure or satisfaction to see, hear, think about.’

See with both it explains that it is giving pleasure and satisfaction to the mind.

How interesting, doesn’t say giving pleasure to a guy from seeing the ‘beauty’ in a girls cleavage, or pleasure in seeing the ‘Beauty’ of a man’s chest, nope!

Being beautiful does not mean pull down your shirt and roll up your skirt. Sure that might bring great pleasure to some people but to be truly beautiful you must touch their heart!

Firstly the question is do you want to look beautiful or be beautiful? They are not the same.

There are many ways to look beautiful, the right makeup, clothing and light can make anyone look great!

Yet true beauty consists of finding a formula to being the best you, therefore BEING beautiful.

‘Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.  And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.’

Colossians 3:12-14

Step one: Put on your Compassion shirt, show others that you care about them just as much as you care for yourself or more! True most people won’t treat you with the same respect, but you will feel better about yourself. And no matter how heartless some people may be... they will remember the compassion you had for them no matter how many years it has been.

Step two: Smooth on the lipstick of Kindness, when you speak let the words touch your ‘Kindness lipstick’ and gently touch others hearts. This can even be done when no one wants to hear the words that need saying.

Step three: Hook up the necklace of Humility around your neck, were it with pride! You are far more beautiful with it on than without. Humble yourself with its sparkle; no one is better than another.

Step four: Slip on the gloves of Gentleness, there soft touch has the capability to calm a storm and cool a fire. Show people you love them by being gentle and gracious in your words and your actions. (Except when playing footy) ;)

Step five: Now put on the pants of Patience, this may be one of your most important pieces of clothing, it may take time to have patience but it is for the best once you have it, it will give you peace and also give peace to those around you.

Step six: Finally, place on the jacket of Love, this jacket is very special as it never stops giving, if you have God’s love in your heart then you will never run out of love, and the best thing to do with love is share it! Give your friend the jacket, your neighbour even your enemy. But don’t worry this is a never ending jacket... you give it away and another comes right back, this jacket will keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer, it gives you hope during despair and faith in the darkness.

Step seven: Now you have your whole outfit... you are beautiful... but don’t forget to smile! But how can you smile if you are holding onto a grudge and you have not forgiven? You can’t, it will come off as fake, and fake is not beauty. Forgive one another... has God has forgiven you, in doing so you are not letting those people win, but showing that you are far better than a silly grudge and you will have peace in your heart and mind. :)

True beauty is not by wearing a certain brand of clothing, or by drowning in pearls and diamonds... no no, true beauty comes from with in... It is written in a smile and grasped by the way you treat yourself and most importantly others. You want to be beautiful? Then put down the makeup and start working from within. :)

And remember God loves you! :)

Could the maker of the stars- hear the sound of my breaking heart?

I kept thinking and thinking, hearing hurtful words that have been said to me over and over, feeling the hurt again and again.

And then in doing that putting myself down because I am focusing on all the negative, and not the positive.

But why is it that it is so easy to hear, see and feel the negative, yet harder with the positive?

I think we all do that at times, and it is rather unfair on ourselves, but in the end the negatives can either break you or make you... it’s your choice.

But could the maker of the stars-hear the sound of my breaking heart?-Tenth Avenue North

Yes! He most definitely does!

Better yet he cares!

As I was lying in my bed... with these things tumbling through my mind, a very soft song started playing in my head... out of nowhere I was hearing lyrics to a song very dear to me... As I stared to hear it, it became louder and louder... till I stopped thinking and hurting!

And oh I could not help but smile... it was no accident! God could hear me, He was listening, and He then placed the song, ‘Turn your eyes upon Jesus’ in my head. Man he is a great God!

You may think that He doesn’t care, because that is the way it seems, because things are not going right for you at the moment.

And when there is disaster, pain and suffering in your life the last thing that we sometimes do is think about God, or we blame Him.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus!

Look to Him! Things may not be making sense now, but He is watching and listening, and He has a plan! Hard to believe, trust me I know. But He loves you, very dearly.

Try to look at the positive... and don’t dwell too long on the negative, it only hurts.

‘Praise the Lord... who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion.’ Psalm 103:2-4

Message Cards

Ok so I have a HUGE bunch of message cards and one day they kind of fell together and formed a little saying... so I went through them all and came up with this, hope you like it. :)

Be your own person,

‘Do not be conformed to this world.’ Romans 12:2

The task ahead of you is NEVER as great as the POWER within you,

‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’ Philippians 4:13

God is with you rain or shine,

‘Never will I leave you. Never will I forsake you.’ Hebrews 13:5

‘Give all your cares to God, for He cares about you.’ 1 Peter 5:7

Put your hope in the Lord,

‘Endurance produces character and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts.’ Romans 5:4-5

You’re so special!

‘The Lord bless you and keep you.’ Numbers 6:24

We are precious in His sight.

‘He will bless us... both great and small.’ Psalm 115:12-13

You are fashioned by God.

‘Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.’ Psalm 119:73

Why?

Because Love is patient~ Love is kind.

‘Love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.’ 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

And don’t let the little stuff get to you,

‘Be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.’ James 1:19-20

God will NEVER let you down! He promises a safe landing... not a smooth flight.

So keep it up- you’re on a roll!

‘In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.’ Proverbs 3:6

Jesus is your friend forever.

So relax! It’s all in God’s hands, and that is the best place to have it!

‘I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.’ Psalm 3:5

The Air of Life.

When you are bleeding on the outside what do you do? As soon as you can, you get a bandaid to stop the bleeding.

When your hair or your body is in drastic need of attention, you give it that attention and feel much better afterwards.

But what about when you are really hurting on the inside? (emotionally) What do you do?

Sometimes we think that watching a movie, going out shopping or doing something active will help. Sure it can, but only for a little while, because it doesn’t get to the core of the problem, more importantly it doesn’t heal that hurt.

Now what? You can try human relationships but they are often the source of the problem, and can cause more problems and it is just too much to ask for a single person to hold all your burdens, all your pain.

Well I hope that this will be a challenge and also reassurance for you.

Let me begin with what I do when I am hurting emotionally. I turn to God, and read the bible, spend time with him.

Now many times I have tried other remedies for the pain, people, shopping, and movies. But none of them satisfy and heal the way God does, it is amazing! The words in the bible wrap around my heart and gently heal the wounds.

There are so many, no, too many people that desperately need God! They need his love! All of us do.

He is a wonderful, merciful God. Ask for forgiveness of your sins; tell Him you know that He sent His ONE and ONLY son, into this world to die for OUR sins!

Be saved!

Feel His love!

And breathe in the air of life! :)
