Take a break.

I just wanted to share with you something I had written down a while ago when I was having a very hard time at my old job.

‘I wish I were one of those people who never let things that aren't there problem get to them. But I’m not, I need to adapt and live my life to my personality. And not try to do/be someone I simply am not.’

This is so true for all of us, thankfully we are all different, we all have certain gifts and talents as well as things we just are not good at. We need to recognize these things and live our lives towards them... Not so much so that we lose touch with the world and become selfish, but so we do not harm ourselves anymore.

Sometimes we need a little break, we need to stop and take a deep breath. There is nothing wrong with doing this, it can be something we really need as well as something others will need because what happens on the inside eventually shows on the outside.

Try and fill your life with things that are good for the soul. Laugh a little louder, smile a little bigger, drink from your favorite cup, dare to dream, breath in the life around you and enjoy each of life’s little delights, because before you know it, the happiness may be gone for a while or maybe even a long time.

It’s good to have a break before you have a break down, so enjoy your break and have a magical day. :)

Overpowered

I was out for lunch the other day, and a good friend of mine was there and she was very close to Simon our friend who committed suicide.  Unfortunately my good friend is not copping very well, she hasn’t been eating but she has been drinking nearly every night, and I don’t mean water, no matter how much alcohol someone has it will not help them. It never dose and never will.

She needed someone to talk to and as we were chatting about it one of the things I said to her was, ‘The thing that made the decision to end it wasn’t Simon. The Simon I knew would have never done this to us, it was the battle he was having inside his head, the depression that over took him and made him believe he had to pull the trigger.’

We are living in a world that has things in it that are much bigger than us. Have you ever stood under a skyscraper and looked up at it? It makes you feel minuscule and over powered. Which is a lot like something’s in this world that have the capability to be over powering.

But good news! Our God is much bigger and better!

We are imperfect people living in an imperfect world full of corruption. And some of us try to earn grace from God, and try to be good enough for Him.

But it’s impossible, we could never earn His grace, because we are far from perfect, whether you like it or not.

He is purity, perfection, in the bible when God appeared to people it talks about how bright it was, a pure white light, so bright that people couldn’t look upon it, they couldn’t look at the purity.

I know what you’re thinking, why did He create us then? If we are not good enough for Him then why are we here?

Well in the beginning God created us with no sin, we where once pure, and God would walk with Adam and Eve side by side in the Garden of Eden.  But unfortunately we wronged God and sin came into the world, which created a gap between God and us.

But God is merciful and loving and desperately wants to be with us, so much so that He sent His only Son so that all our sins may be forgiven and we can be rescued. From Gods Son, Jesus, dying on the cross a bridge was created so that we may be able to cross it and be with God.

Do you see how much bigger and better God is? If he is able to create a universe, yet care for a single bird that has fallen from its nest, I’m pretty sure you have no need to worry or be threatened.

‘The Lord himself will fight for you. You won’t have to lift a finger in your defense!’ Exodus 14:14

If you want to begin and be in a personal relationship with Jesus today, then please pray this prayer.

“Dear Lord Jesus, I believe you died for me and that Your blood paid for my sins. Please forgive me for my sin. I want you to be my Lord. Thank you for dying for me, forgiving my sin and giving me the gift of eternal life. I wish to turn away from sin and I acknowledge you as my Lord and Saviour, Amen.”

Give a gift that can't be re-paid.

Sometimes I think we just need to relax, breath in the fresh air, laugh until you have abbs, let your hair out, dance the night away!

Life is just flying by, I mean how many people actually look you in the face and smile when you are out? Not that many huh?

So many of us are just trying to get to where we need to be in a big rush that we forget or walk past things that are important and perhaps even more important for those you stop for. Sometimes things happen in our lives that can blind us from those that really need someone to notice them, and help.

Then the next minute, no second, life stops and you wonder what on earth you were doing in the past year or so that was more important than talking with a friend, so before this happens, stop for a second, enjoy life, party hard but sensibly, take of your shoes and walk on grass that has dew on it, wind down the window and smell the breeze! But most importantly stop to have a chat, for a friend, family, co-worker, even a stranger. There is only one thing in life that you can give that can never be re-paid, and that is time.

Pain

There is so much emotional pain in this world, too much if you ask me.

I had this beautiful friend, Simon, he was awesome, there was never a dull moment with him around and he could always make you smile, and he loved to do so.

But Simon had a hard life and he was in more emotional pain then most people may encounter, and it didn’t help that he often kept it to himself, as he usually thought more about others.

He would take the pain he was going through and pass it onto a blade that he would place on his wrists, he would come to school and you could see the lines under the hairs on his arms.

Last year near Christmas, Simon choose to take a path that I wish people never took/take, he made the decision to take his own life, tho this path may seem the best option, it’s not, he should have given himself another chance, a chance to enjoy life not just scrape by, and God is more than capable of providing the help you need and blessing you. God is just patiently waiting and waiting for us to run back into his arms, like a lost child returning home.

I can’t help but ask God the question, why didn’t you do anything? Why didn’t you stop him?

To be truly honest I have no idea, though I know and am glad that God knows.

This is something that has impacted me like someone walking into a glass door, you never see it coming but when it hits, it HITS! It’s taking me a while to come to terms with it, but in a way I feel and know that I never will... not so much the fact he is gone but of how he left, it is something that tares at your heart every time you are reminded.

And yes, of course I do blame myself, I can’t help it, ‘if only I had been there for him more, If only I had spoken to him every time I thought of him, If only he knew how much I cared for him... if only.’ Now there are some dangerous words,’ if only.’

But here’s the thing, unfortunately, if someone doesn’t want to be helped, you can’t help them! But you can certainly try and let them know how you feel.

Though through all of this, I feel as though God is bringing me to a turning point, and one that will fulfil his purpose for me, what is it exactly? Well I don’t know yet, but I guess that’s the fun in it.

But I know for sure, that I am going to do all I can to help others, the lost and the depressed the rich and the poor, I truly want to do all I can, because I will not let it happen again!

I think at times we underestimate God, we don’t know how many angels he has sent our way just to sit beside us as our tears fell to the floor, or how many have had to fend off our enemies that would whisper lies in our ears that we would foolishly believe.

We keep staring at a dark spec of a picture when we should be looking through Gods eyes, and seeing the whole miraculous masterpiece of our life!

Yes your life, the one God picked out, the life that God has carefully weaved and planned for good, to bless you and fulfil his purpose.

God catches every tear in the palm of His hands, and he can’t wait for the day that He gets to wipe the tears from your eyes.

The most important thing.

Love is the most important ingredient.

‘There are three things that will endure- faith, hope, and love- and the greatest of these is love.’- 1 Corinthians 13:13

Ok, what is with this girl!? She has this obsession with love! If you are a regular reader of my blogs then you might be thinking this way. Well, it is important! It really is what the world is missing, think about it, if most people in the world had and gave love.

‘Love is patient and kind... is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude... dose not demand its own way... is not irritable and keeps no record of wrong...rejoices whenever the truth wins... Love never gives up, never losses faith, is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance. Love will last forever...’ – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Wow, imagine if more people were like THAT! How much better would the world be!?

But what is stopping you?

“God gets blamed for a lot of things these days... we see bad things happening... we wonder why doesn’t He do something. Why doesn’t He stop it? I don’t really know, but I wonder if God ever wants to ask us the same question.”- Chris from To Save A Life.

I know how hard it can be to love some people, I know!

I’ve been praying most of my life asking God to please help me to love my enemies, cause crikey it is hard! But you know what? It is a great feeling when you do, because you know and God knows that you have and are doing the right thing, and that makes God happy. :)

Let me share with you a story of mine...

When I was in high school, there was this nasty girl who was bulling me, just emotionally, but she was scary... and very good at what she did, she would fake it and manipulate people to hate me for something I never did.

I don’t know why she did these things but it made school life and home life a regular battle, but I never stopped smiling.

One day she spread a nasty rumour about me, and my whole grade heard it including the office, next thing I know, the deputy principle pulls me out of class asking me what I was doing? Why I did it? When I hadn’t done anything, it was a lie. And some people were asking why I was being so horrible to the girl who was actually the bully manipulating them with her fake tears and lies.

Well I bolted to the toilets in a complete mess! Bawling my eyes out, and feeling sick. I had every reason to hate her, but do you know want to know what I did instead? I allowed God and the Holy Spirit to influence my thoughts and emotions, and not what the world says to do. When I was in the toilets sobbing I prayed this prayer.

“Lord, I can’t believe this is happening, how can someone be so heartless!? I want to ask you to make her come to school bald, but I guess for someone to do something like this must mean that she is really hurting inside, so Lord, will you please help her.”

Yep, one of my proudest moments I think, it took fair more effort for me to pray good things for her but the peace I had in my heart I could not have achieved any other way, not even with revenge.

‘You should behave instead like Gods very own children adopted into his family- calling him “Father, dear Father.”... His Holy Spirit speaks... deep in our hearts... tells us that we are Gods children... Since we are his children we will have his treasure- for everything God gives to his Son, Christ, is ours too. But if we are to share his glory we must also share his suffering.”- Romans 8:15-17
